Timco Receives LEED Certification
March 6, 2009

Timco Construction recently received their LEED certification through the hard work and dedication of their Senior Construction Engineer, Adam Bomstad. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building rating system developed by the United States Green Building Council, which sets standards for the environmentally sustainable construction industry. The LEED certification was created back in 1994 to accomplish the following objectives: to promote whole-building design practices; to recognize leadership in the environmental building industry; to define “green building” by establishing a standard measurement; to stimulate the green competition throughout the market; to raise the awareness of the benefits of green building; and to transform the building market into a sustainable industry.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)

Timco, a premier medical contractor in the health care industry, has taken a huge step forward in the construction industry by receiving this accreditation, setting them apart from most of the general contractors across the Midwest. Timco also holds the ASHE (American Society for Healthcare Engineering) Certification. Timco’s great strides in the medical industry has only strengthened their ability to exceed their clients expectations in healthcare construction.

Adam Bomstad, LEED A.P., holds a B.S. degree in Construction Management with a minor in Business Administration and has the neccessary skills to succeed with Timco in developing and managing high-quality projects for a number of hospitals and clinics around the Twin Cities. Together with many skilled and highly trained professionals in the field of healthcare construction, Timco has grown significantly over the past 50 years. Established in 1957, Timco was founded by Thomas E. McKee as a general contractor for both residential and commercial projects. In 1982, Timco was taken over by the current President and CEO; Timothy E. McKee, who now focuses almost exclusively in the healthcare industry, providing the market with strategic construction solutions for medical projects across Minnesota.
